Not One, But Two

You've got a friend, Heidi. Freja just joined the Chanel ad campaign. Chanel's designer, Karl Lagerfeld, just returned to Paris from Vermont having shot the fall-winter campaign.
“It was very cold, the sky was blue and the light was stunning. And the people are so nice,” Lagerfeld said Monday night at the opening of the “Court Pomp & Royal Ceremony” exhibition at Versailles. The backdrops for the shoot included a big wooden barn. “I’ve never seen such a beautiful barn in my life,” he enthused. In another news, fashion photographers Mert and Marcus will be shooting the Givenchy campaign. Some fashionistas are guessing it could be Karen Elson, being a favorite both of M&M and Riccardo Tisci.

Where The Wild Trailers Are

I don't have any idea how to embed a video. I've only started blogging last year and I'm not really computer savvy. Also I don't use my own computer to blog. hehehe I use someone else's and all streaming media or video is blocked. So today, while scanning E!Online, I saw this Rate-a-Trailer for Where the Wild Things Are and instead of the video under it, it's just this white space. Wahhhh!!!!!! so if you want to see the trailer, click here and enjoy. UPDATE (10:22pm) *****I'VE JUST WATCHED THE TRAILER AND OHMYGOD!! IT'S FREAKING UNBELIEVABLE! Watch the trailer here.

Change of Face on Fall 09

Akris will no longer have Tao as their ad campaign image; instead they will go with another girl. Hmm.. Who could it be this time? Meanwhile, DKNY decided to go with the multi-girl look very much like Prada last season. Balenciaga is doing also a multi-girl look but no, it's not models. It's a group of celebrities. God I hope it's not the so-called British "it" girls. Can't stand Alice Dellal or Eliza Cummings. Steven Meisel will shoot the campaign. I hope they go with edgy celebs. I really liked the Jennifer Connelly campaign they did. In another news, it looks like Stefano Pilati is continuing with the Supermodel trend. Rumor has it that Christy Turlington already shot the Fall 09 campaign. Might be boring.

Edit This: Nicole Richie as Lady Gaga

Nicole Richie looking like Lady Gaga for Blackbook Magazine April issue aka the Music issue. Never heard of this magazine before but Nicole Richie looks really good here. Wearing a platinum blonde wig with bangs, the pregnant mama is decked out in gaudy jewelries. And in another photo, she reinvents the eighties in a Stephen Sprouse Tribute Graffiti Leggings, Christian Louboutin pumps, Miu Miu Sequined Bomber Jacket and a striped top.

How Not to Wear Rodarte

Is Reese becoming the new poster girl for Rodarte? This is the 2nd time I've seen her in Rodarte and I don't think it works. Props to her for scoring a Fall look just weeks after it walked down the runway. I do loved her look in Oscars when she wore this blue and black swirly creation. But the critics are not loving this Rodarte look on her. Rodarte is known as being very edgy, with a dreamy like quality, futurist, almost sci-fi creations, cob-webbed together from wool, metallic fabric, leather and sometimes plastic. Reese, on the other hand, tends to go the classic conservative style. Don't get me wrong, I like Reese. But the styling on this dress is just bad. The dress is not meant for a sunny look. She should have thrown some fierce Loboutin/Nicholas Kirkwood shoes and a sleek ponytail. Should have thrown the glasses, Reese.

Fall 2009 Campaign Season

It's campaign season once again! Unbelievable, I've only just posted the full Balenciaga ad campaign and now it's that time of the year again. For Spring 2009 brands went the Supermodel routes- models who can guarantee a sell- Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen for Versace, Claudia Schiffer for YSL, Daria Werbowy for Roberto Cavalli - or the multi-girl look that Balenciaga and Prada had.
As per TFS, Tao Okamoto will be fronting Akris, Bruna Tenorio for Ports 1961 and Kate Moss just did a shoot in Place de la Concorde for a future women's fragrance for Yves Saint Laurent.

Wayne Sterling of The Imagist reports:
"It is too early to say and too tenuous to reveal who's holding/confirming what these days but rest assured it is the striking and the extreme that seem to be filtering into the next phase. Among the buzz I picked up by some art directors is a disenchantment with the 'multiples' ideal, that concept of an army of models rocking as many of the looks from the show as possible while waving as many possible it-bags as can be crammed into a double page. Two VERY big brands have already gone 'Only Girl.'"

That's most probably Prada going with exclusive Ymre Stiekema. Oh well, I just hope Sasha gets the good ones.

The 90's Supermodel is still very much in! Cindy Crawford recently posed naked for Allure for their anti-ageing issue. And it is whoa! Holy Mother! If I look like that at 43...

Count Thy Calories

As I have previously mentioned, I'm going to Bantayan Island this Holy Week. I am tirelessly counting the number of days until my feet feels the grainy sand of the island. So to get ready, I decided to buy a swimsuit. Last time I bought one was 2 years ago. And it was this blue Bayo two-piece suit that I really love. Friday last week, my friends and I went to Landmark to try on a couple of swimsuits I saw before. It was fun picking the right color and the right style. I decided to try on a black and white halter tankini. And it was sad. Suddenly, the thought of going to Bantayan is depressing and the thought of me wearing a two-piece suit is absolutely terrifying. It's not that I'm conservative or anything. I just think I could stand to lose more pounds. I'm not overweight. I'm 5'2 and 126 lbs. I'm still under the normal range for my height, still have the right BMI and so on. So to get "bikini-ready" by April (I know, it's cutting it pretty close) I decided to create an account on caloriecount.com. All you need to do is enter the food you ate for that day and it will count the calories you've had, thus the name caloriecount. I was really excited. Then I remembered what I ate for breakfast. Half-rice, scrambled egg, and tuyo. Oh Shit! I forgot that these so called sites about calorie counting is mostly based on foods found in the US. I mean, how can you actually count the calorie content of Dinuguan or even Munggo? Gosh, so now all I can eat are food generally found everywhere. Goodluck sa 'kin diba?

Bantayan Island

I can't wait for the Holy Week!!!! 24 more days to go and this is where I'm going!! Bantayan Island in Cebu. I was supposed to go to Caramoan Island in Bicol but the place is packed due to a series of Survivor shootings. Oh well, since I haven't been to Cebu, I'm just very excited about this trip.

Is This A Ripoff?

Miley Cyrus' Oscars gown is drawing flack for being veeerryy similar to another gown. According to E!, Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad was inspired by the Junon dress which sits currently at the Met. However, it's too late to even point out that the designer "is constantly inspired by Christian Dior, and this gown, in particular, re-creates the look of the Dior gown using today's technology,' because when he showed this gown during his Le Bal des Sirenes show, nobody heard a pip that his inspiration was Christian Dior or any other French designers for that matter. Although the Junon dress is strapless while the Murad gown is not, you can see that the beading and shape of the skirt is similar. I do think that Miley Cyrus' gown is a rip off and that the designer forgot to credit inspiration until it was too late.

Yves Saint Laurent Patent Cage Low Boots

Carrie Bradshaw would totally love this look! It's edgy and little unexpected. And it looks comfortable. While I tend to veer away from chunky heels, this one I'm sure I would buy in a heartbeat if I only have the money. The thin lattice structured heels offset its thickness and helps create the balance you need to be able to walk comfortably in them.

On Trend: Fishtail Gown

Fishtail gowns are in! First of is Diane Lane wearing a slightly ruched strapless black dress with a mermaid/fishtail hemline. Marisa Tomei in an elaborately pleated one-shouldered Versace Atelier silvery grey satin organza gown. She polished her look with vintage Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. Halle Berry wearing a gold and black Marchesa gown, Jimmy Choo clutch and H. Stern jewels. Vanessa Hudgens, also in Marchesa. Wearing a strapless tulled gown with feather details, she completed the look with Cathy Waterman jewelry and Jimmy Choo heels. Melissa George in a white Dolce and Gabbana which she paired with a box clutch. Beyonce in a tragic House of Dereon gown.

Oscars 2009 Best Dressed: Dreamy SJP

Ooohhhh, this dress is sooo dreamy. Never mind SJP's boobies, this 'barely mint' Dior HC dress looks fabulous!

White and Metallic at the Oscars

Anne Hathaway looks gorgeous in an Armani Prive gown. That dress is simply amazing. Jessica Biel in a sad sack of a dress by Prada. What is she doing in the Oscars anyway? Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab HC Spring 2009. She still looks amazing even if the color washes her out. Jennifer Aniston is wearing a silver Valentino gown with Jimmy Choo “Jag” satin sandals. She looks great here and at least she isn’t wearing black. Meanwhile, Penelope Cruz looks positively angelic. The details on her vintage Balmain gown are really exquisite. It's a little bit bridal but who cares. Taraji Henson's gown by Roberto Cavalli looks nice and soft, I'm just not sure about the color. Is it nude? Beige? Or white? Eh. I just wish she had a different clutch.

Kate Moss for NY Mag

I love Kate Moss, I really do. I love her Topshop line and probably everything about her except her lovelife (excluding Johnny Depp, of course). So it saddens me to see that Kate Moss here looks like a hundred years old. I know she is um, older than some models but there there is no reason why she has to look mature than she actually is. photo from nymag

Dolce & Gabbana S/S 09

More pics from Dolce and Gabanna's ad campaign and it loks like Karlie Kloss is the sister being left out of the girl-to-girl action. Or she just doesn't care.
