Is This A Ripoff?

Miley Cyrus' Oscars gown is drawing flack for being veeerryy similar to another gown. According to E!, Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad was inspired by the Junon dress which sits currently at the Met. However, it's too late to even point out that the designer "is constantly inspired by Christian Dior, and this gown, in particular, re-creates the look of the Dior gown using today's technology,' because when he showed this gown during his Le Bal des Sirenes show, nobody heard a pip that his inspiration was Christian Dior or any other French designers for that matter. Although the Junon dress is strapless while the Murad gown is not, you can see that the beading and shape of the skirt is similar. I do think that Miley Cyrus' gown is a rip off and that the designer forgot to credit inspiration until it was too late.

Marisa Tomei in an elaborately pleated one-shouldered Versace Atelier silvery grey satin organza gown. She polished her look with vintage Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. Halle Berry wearing a gold and black Marchesa gown, Jimmy Choo clutch and H. Stern jewels. Vanessa Hudgens, also in Marchesa. Wearing a strapless tulled gown with feather details, she completed the look with Cathy Waterman jewelry and Jimmy Choo heels. Melissa George in a white Dolce and Gabbana which she paired with a box clutch. Beyonce in a tragic House of Dereon gown.

White and Metallic at the Oscars

Anne Hathaway looks gorgeous in an Armani Prive gown. That dress is simply amazing. Jessica Biel in a sad sack of a dress by Prada. What is she doing in the Oscars anyway? Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab HC Spring 2009. She still looks amazing even if the color washes her out. Jennifer Aniston is wearing a silver Valentino gown with Jimmy Choo “Jag” satin sandals. She looks great here and at least she isn’t wearing black. Meanwhile, Penelope Cruz looks positively angelic. The details on her vintage Balmain gown are really exquisite. It's a little bit bridal but who cares. Taraji Henson's gown by Roberto Cavalli looks nice and soft, I'm just not sure about the color. Is it nude? Beige? Or white? Eh. I just wish she had a different clutch.

SAG Awards Best Dressed: America Ferrera

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera is gorgeous in a flowing, diaphanous Vera Wang gown. Although she could have used a more dramatic color, I'm just glad that she really looks lovely here. The side ponytail, dark lips and matching nail color-- they blend perfectly together giving America the best dressed award for the night.

Anne Hathaway looks chic here in an Azzaro dress. Meanwhile, Taraji Henson looks smashing in a Herve Leroux gown.
I really like Jennifer Morrison but if she continues to dress like this, I'll probably switch to Jesse Spencer. At least, the accent is sexy. This Anne Valerie Hash dress is unflattering. Teri Hatcher, in all fairness, looks really good here. She looks happy and comfortable and I think they (Monique Lhuiller and Teri Hatcher) really work well together.

Freida Pinto in a Marchesa gown. I'm not too sure about the color but since she looks beautiful here and that works for me. Kate Winslet has the best blue gown of all. In a curve-hugging Narciso Rodriguez, she looks like a winner here!
Looking more like a goddess than a housewife, Marcia Cross in an indigo and black Carolina Herrera gown. Evan Rachel Wood in Monique Lhuiller. I love the color of this dress. Not too sure about the purple purse and shoes though.

30 Rock's Katrina Bowden in a Christian Siriano cocktail dress. Angelina Jolie in a what else but a matronly Max Azria dress.

As of this moment, Golden Globes hasn't started yet but there are now pics of celebrities arrivals which I will slightly cover. First off is Olivia Wilde looking absolutely dreamy. This lilac Reem Acra gown is unbelievable. You know, I've noticed she always looks girly and sweet and positively glowing in her gowns.

People's Choice Awards

People's Choice Awards was last night and according to NYMag, people no longer cared for this event. But no matter, the blogger from NYMag couldn't resist the pull of the awards season and listed the seven bizaare moments from the show that made it worth watching. Trust me, it's worth your time reading it.

The women of House looking all glamorous. I can't decide between Jennifer Morrison's Gianfranco Ferre dress or Olivia Wilde's. While Olivia Wilde looks serene in a grecian inspired gown, Jennifer Morrison is all gold. Although she really looks stunning, I'm just not sure if blonde works for her. It kinda washes her features out. Lisa Edelstein, in the meantime, looks meh. It's not fugly but it's not great either. What the heck is that on her neck?! Is that a scarf? a rope?
Marisa Tomei certainly looks fabulous here. The accessories complemented her dress very well. She looks simple and chic at the same time.

She looks like she's wearing a pajama dress or a kitchen curtain maybe.

Christina Applegate in a Jenny Packham dress. Good thing about the embellishments or else this gown would have been boring.

It's nice to see Dakota Fanning looking cute and age appropriate in an indigo BCBG minidress. Jordin Sparks in a blue pleated strapless dress by Jessica McClintock looking all shiny and super smiley. She looks like a Christmas ornament. Queen latifah looks regal here.The Georges Chakra couture gown looks amazing on her.
