Most Anticipated Films of 2009

2009 is here people!!! While some moviefreak have their list out as early as October, I'm just starting on mine. Not surprisingly, it's almost the same as the others. This is in no particular order and is probably incomplete but I can't think of any other film that I'm most excited about.

Year One

I'm not sure if this is titled "The Year one" or just plain "Year One," but whatevs. It stars Jack Black and Michael Cera as two lazy hunter-gatherers who got banished form their primitive village and they set off on an epic journey thru the ancient world.

Where The Wild Things Are

This picture alone made me excited for this movie. I remember my educ teacher telling me this book created a stir of controversy when it was released because the boy was naked. Now it's still stirring up some noise due to production issues, test screening gone bad, etc. I just hope that they pull through and produce a great movie. (more pics coming)

Watchmen

Watchmen is clearly the best graphic novel there is, even securing a spot in Time's All Time 100 Books. So naturally, expect a lot of people to be excited about this one. However, it might be a while when this film will be released since two major studios fight for the rights to this film.

The Road

This post-apocalyptic tale was supposed to be the vehicle for Viggo Mortensen to win an Oscar but due to some
problems, its highly unlikely that will happen. That really sucks because of all the actors that will be nominated in this year's Oscars, he deserves to win.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

No explanation needed.

Star Trek

I'm not really a fan of Star Trek. Have never watched any of the old Star Trek films or the television series. But I'll tell you this, I will watch any movie featuring Simon Pegg. Besides, the cast is really good
.

UP

I've seen the trailer for this film and it looks really cute and funny. I have never disliked any Pixar movie ever made, not that I've seen many of them; just watch Wall-E if you have any doubt.

Angels and Demons

Tom Hanks continue on Angels and Demons, the prequel to The Da Vinci Code. I seriously hope this is way better than the awfulness that is The Da Vinci Code or else I'm never going to read another Dan Brown book again.
